In the current context of climate change, population growth, increased mobility and travel, expanding human-animal contact, and ecological changes, the region and the world is prone to emerging and re-emerging infectious disease outbreaks or epidemics such as Ebola, Hantavirus, mpox, Covid19, and so. These epidemics as seen by Covid-19 pandemic or 2014 Ebola in West Africa and now DRC have the tendency to significantly impact lives (increase morbidity and mortality) and livelihood of populations, which in the context of climate change deepens systemic vulnerabilities affecting adaptation and community resilience.

To defeat a powerful and elusive enemy is to know the enemy, hence proactive preparedness rather than reactive response is at the core of effective people centered public health emergency preparedness and response. This webinar will served as a platform for discussion and knowledge exchange on Ebola, Hantavirus and other emerging epidemics preparedness, prevention, response, and recovery.
