From September 6 to 8, 2021, the preparatory meeting of the 5th conference of the WAC-CREP was held at the SEEN Abidjan – Plateau hotel, in the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire. This meeting had four major objectives, namely: Strengthen the continued commitments of Member States to the mission of WAC-CREP, present the epidemiological situation as well as epidemic response activities (i.e. COVID-19, EVD , Lassa fever, etc.), reflect on the organization of the next WAC congress in Côte d’Ivoire in 2022, strengthen collaboration with institutions (universities) and improve partner networks.

Attended this meeting:

• representatives of four WAC member countries, namely Mali, Sierra Leone, Liberia and Côte d’Ivoire. Guinea not having been able to make the trip;
• the representative of the director of the cabinet of the Minister of Health, Public Hygiene and Universal Health Coverage of Côte d’Ivoire;
• the representative of civil society organizations, also Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Federation of Health Organizations of Côte d’Ivoire (FENOSCI);
• The Vice – Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences of Abidjan, Félix Houphouët Boigny University.
